Lori K. Maldavir


M.M., Director of Day Haven and Program Development

Lori holds a Master’s Degree in Management with a focus in Aging Policy from The Heller School at Brandeis University and has been working in the field of aging services for over 20 years. She has been working with Day Haven since 2002 and has a passion and commitment to supporting family caregivers. Lori oversees Day Haven’s program operations. Responsible for Day Haven’s Caregiver Support Services, Lori facilitates two of Day Haven’s monthly support groups, coordinates caregiver educational events and is responsible for introducing Long Island’s first Memory Cafes to Suffolk County.

MS, Day Haven Port Jefferson Site Supervisor

Liz has enjoyed working with seniors since she was a teenager volunteering in an Activities Program in a Skilled Nursing Facility. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services from Villanova University and her love for the senior population lead Liz to pursue her Master’s Degree in Gerontological Services Administration from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. Her broad experience includes Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Senior Center and Social Adult Day Care settings. Recognizing the value of social model day programming, Liz strives to bring enrichment and fun into the lives of our participants.

Katlyn Vecchio


LMSW, Day Haven Ronkonkoma Site Supervisor

Katlyn has worked in the health care field as a social worker for several years.  She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University.  Katlyn values the importance of person-centered care and understands the varying needs of each individual in our program.  She utilizes her social work skills to support staff, participants, and families.  Katlyn's desire to help families facing the challenges of Alzheimer's disease stems from her personal experience caring for her own grandmother who had dementia.
