Adult Day Care and Respite Care
Our social model adult day services program provides daytime care for frail older adults and those with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia. Experts agree that adult day services are vital to supporting quality of life and maintaining elders in their homes for as long as possible. Our therapeutic activities, professional and caring staff, and our fun and supportive environment enrich the daily life of our participants. We offer flexible scheduling and full or part time enrollment. Our commitment to caring ensures all participants are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. Our knowledgeable and experienced staff can help you and your loved one make the transition to adult day services. They will also help you access other resources in the community.
Specialized Services for People with Alzheimer’s
Understanding the need for special attention for those with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia, our adult day services staff is specially trained in the disease’s progression. The staff is skilled at communicating and attending to those with memory loss while making activities meaningful and rewarding.
Despite the progression of one’s dementia, we all retain a basic human need to engage in meaningful activities and to have contact with others. Activities are carefully designed to promote self-confidence and feelings of self-worth for people with advanced dementia. The skilled, dedicated and caring staff provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for the participants.
Emergency Respite Care
At Day Haven, we understand the stresses and demands on the family caregiver. This is why we also offer emergency respite care for people who do not regularly attend Day Haven, but need to access care on an intermittent basis. Space is limited and pre-registration and 24-hour notice are required.
All of our centers offer intergenerational programs. The children and seniors engage in a 30 minute daily activity that typically includes music, art, games and more!
